You've poured your heart and soul into designing the perfect logo, brochure, or invitation. Now, it's time to bring it to life through professional printing. But before you hit "send" on that file to Inscriptu, take a moment to understand the vital role file formats play in achieving the high-quality results you envision.

PDFs

While various file types exist, PDF (Portable Document Format) reigns supreme as the ideal choice for most printing projects. PDFs preserve the integrity of your design, ensuring fonts, colors, and layouts remain consistent across different devices and software.  This is crucial for accurate reproduction when Inscriptu's skilled printers bring your vision to reality.

Vectors

For logos, engraving projects, and large prints, vector files, either in PDF or EPS, are particularly important. Tools like Adobe Illustrator or Inkscape create vector graphics, which are based on mathematical formulas rather than pixels, allowing for infinite scalability without losing quality. This means your logo will look crisp and sharp whether it's emblazoned on a business card or a billboard.

Resolution

When it comes to high-resolution photos, aim for a minimum resolution of 300 dpi (dots per inch). This ensures your images are sharp and detailed, avoiding pixelation or blurriness in the final print. While JPGs can work well for high-resolution photo jobs, remember that they are lossy compressed files, meaning some image data is discarded during saving if you keep on compression.

Online Tools

Finally, if you're designing in online tools like Canva or Procreate, always choose the highest resolution option available for printing. Ensure fonts are outlined (converted from text to graphics) to prevent any font substitution issues during printing.
